A twenty-year-old idea that still shapes how we think about money: go upstream.

You’ve built something valuable. But making more money doesn’t automatically make money feel simpler.
Having more financial pieces doesn’t mean you have a financial system.
Same market + different architecture = different experience.
Two business owners can earn the same, save the same and live through the same economy ... and feel completely different about money. The difference is how the pieces are built to work together. That’s what we teach.

Amanda grew up on public assistance in rural Ohio. Brandon came from poverty too. When we started our first business together, our net worth wasn’t zero. It was negative.
We built it anyway. Years later we owned Overflow Coffee Bar, a social enterprise café in Chicago’s South Loop, and sold it in 2018.
We didn’t learn money from the sidelines. We learned it while building businesses, digging out of debt, making mistakes, taking risks and figuring out how to make the pieces work together.
We spent years swimming against the current before we had a word for it. Counterflow is that word.
Financial freedom isn’t built by moving faster or louder than everyone else. It’s built by making decisions you can actually live with, slowly and on purpose.
You’ve made money. You’ve accumulated assets. You’ve probably collected financial accounts, strategies and advice along the way. But having financial pieces isn’t the same thing as having a financial system.
Counterflow is for business owners who want more control, more optionality and a clearer connection between their money and the life they’re actually building.

One hour, live with Amanda, for business owners whose profit is finally showing up ... and who aren’t sure where that money should live while the next few months feel uncertain.
Save your seat →When a big deposit hits your account, your brain celebrates. It feels like wealth. But if $50,000 comes in and $48,000 goes out ... you didn’t build wealth. You circulated money through a system.
Every financial decision runs through more than logic. What you know, what you’ve practiced, what your gut tells you and what you’re afraid of losing all get a vote. When they agree, decisions feel calm. Most of the money stress people bring to us lives in the moments they don’t.
Most financial plans measure your money. This measures your relationship with it.
